This look like it sticks out too much?
Got my 18x8 mounted today on 245/40/18 tires to see if rubbing happens and ZERO which I am happy about. 245 on the front is about as big as it can get as its close to touching, but I still have a full 100% turning circle...which is what I wanted.
My question is though -- In comparison to my current 16x16.5 Lorinsors....these look like they stick out alot more. They are ET35 too.
What do ya guys think? Do they look like they stick out too much or look okay?
I was thinking 18x9 on the rear...but now I'm reconsidering...
PS: Gotta get new springs as the front sits wayyy too high for some unknown reason.

yeah, IMO those stick out too much. The problem is not your wheel. It's your tire width. I have the same width and offset on my rims as you do, but I'm running 225's. They don't stick out at all.
As for the rear, put the rim on in the back and see how it looks. It may not stick out as much as the front.

I just went to double check that offset and it is in fact ET31...I guess the guy either lied or can't read.
Now, that means that it is sitting further inwards, correct? I guess they would have looked even worse had they been et35 then!
I'll throw em on the back tomorrow and see how they look.

Ok that makes sense now...I'll see what they look like on the rear.
I'll keep searching for some et 35 monoblock II's...
This wheel + tire only cost me $100 so I'm pretty sure I can flip it for more than I paid for it.

FWIW I run 18x8 et31 rims and Michelin Pilots, rear: 245 x 40 x 18, front: 225 x 40 x 18 (w 500e brakes and rolled fenders) on my Sportline, no rubbing.
I like the wide stance but if I were buying again I'd focus on et35.

31 for the rear and 35 for front.
I am running 35 on all four right now until I get my bolts for my rear H&R hubcentric 10mm spacers....that will make the rear sit flush with the fenders, like my fronts already do:

AMG monoblock II's in 18x8" were only available in +31mm offset, not a +35. You can get the replicas in a +35mm offset though. I wouldn't worry about the slight offset difference, your main concern would be the tire size, adjust that and roll your fender lips and it should be ok.

. since you paid so little for them, new tires should still not break your budget...

Ya I really wanna go 18's.
Beautiful E320 btw!
This is the look I want:
I think it just looks perfect.
Gonna throw em on the back right now and see how it looks. Will post back in a bit.

Yes you may be right they might be 19's...but 18's is about as big as I will go without killing my ride quality lol. I was mainly getting at the mono II's with a drop that fills the arch nicely.
----
Well on the rear they are perfectly fine They fill pretty nicely too with the stock suspension. No rubbing so far over bumps.
They stick out very very slightly, but its perfectly reasonable...nothing like it did in the front. If I were to run like this (18x8 245/40/18) I would probably roll the fenders for the long run to be on the safe side.
Now...if I went 18x8.5 et31 in the rear (just curious)...would that stick out further or does it go more inside than out? I would love to run staggered, but not at the cost of the wheels sticking out.

What I'm saying is that those wont look AS big in 18s so if you were hoping to get them to look exactly like that, it would be hard. I rock 18s and I love em.
Berti, that looks like Scott(run.exe)'s 500E....it's not a 300 or 400.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm learning all this stuff fast
Had the metal clip and the wire from the negative battery terminal snap off today right when I parked my car. Car died right as I was parking. Lucky it wasn't while I was driving!!
Phew!
