Check Engine light when car is off?
Is this normal? I got into the car this morning and the check engine light was on....This is without the key in the ignition. I drove it to work and the light went off as I started the car.
...Just got home and this time the light was on all the time I was driving. The diagnostic light bleeps 5 times which I hear means the O2 sensor...(I replaced it less than 10k miles ago??)
Should the light be on all the time even when the key is off?

08 Lexus GS350 AWD. 08 Lexus RX350 AWD - wife's. 94 MBZ E320 - still have it.
No lights should be on with the ignition off. Carefully check all the fuses. You won't believe the wierdest things a hairline crack in a fuse could cause on an older Benz.

I had someone tell me that is a common OVP fault...I did replace mine about 20k miles ago.
I unplugged the battery terminal to reset the codes...and it went away....That was 2 days ago and no check engine light yet or codes...
If it happens again I'll go ahead and buy another OVP. I need one for my backup anyway as they are such a consumable item and can cause havok amongst multiple things on this engine.
I'll go swap out all my fuses out for good measure as I have a ton of new ones lying around from a "box of parts" I bought a long time ago.
