Wanted: Front Speaker

I am looking to replace my right front dash speaker which has gone bad (buzzes when volume is turned up). I have a '92 300E 2.6. I know some folks have replaced thiers, so hoping they might have a stock one sitting around that they would like to sell. Thanks. You can PM me if you want.

You can get a replacement from radio shack for probably the same price.
but if i were you...i'd just replace both dash speakers with an after-market speaker

aftermarket is better. not sure how easy it would be to find a good stock speaker. "good as in has not been stabbed in the cone to rip it from the dash" I dont think there is a "Safe" way to get them out. aftermarket is better and not made of cardboard

All the speakers in my 1990 300ce are stock, this might possess me to take them out finally and replace them with my Rockford Fosgates I bought 4 years ago. If I do, you are more than welcome to the set!

Thanks for the replies. Actually, in my car, the speaker was very easy to remove without damaging it at all. You remove the narrow trim besides the speaker, then two screws to remove the speaker cover. Then just carefully pry from the edges and the speaker pops out. It has some tabs that hold it in place. Then you unplug it and that's it. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on new ones, so not that interested in the after-market ones. Thanks and let me know if anyone has one they would like to part with!

I will post a pic of it a little later today when I get home to make sure it is a direct replacement. Mine has two metal tabs, and one plastic one that holds it in place. I guess the speaker is a tweeter or mid-range, it is about 4" or 5" in size. I will also get the benz part number off of the back. Thanks again!

Thanks again to RHW...this guy sees my post, and without any payment first he ships me two (not one) of his speakers. At least he let me cover the shipping (although he didn't seem too interested in even getting paid for that!), and I am encouraged by the generosity of a total stranger.

Anyway, I pop in a speaker and it works great. Thanks again!

If anyone has one of these dash speakers laying around and would like to sell, I need one as well. The left dash speaker is cutting out at times and I need to turn the volume all the way up to get it going again.

I would replace with aftermarket speakers but I haven't found an easy replacement yet.

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I just picked up a '93 400E. Somebody replaced the head unit on the car, but I
want to upgrade all the speakers. Could you all help me with what size speakers
I need to buy to replace them? I am assuming two on the dash, two on the front
doors, and two on the rear deck. Am I missing anything else?

Thanks.
