Carbon Fiber wrapped interior - Pix Inside :)

So, after attempting to refinish the wood in my car with an ebony stain and failing miserably at the clear coat stage, I decided to go another route. I had seen on a few of the BMW forums a CF fabric that went for a decent price (less than my wood stripper/stain/clear coat) and all the cars that I saw done in it looked reasonably sick. Luckily, the dealer was only about 20 miles away, so I picked some up last week.

I still have more than half of what I bought, so if anyone wants, you can send me your components and I'll wrap them for you for cheap!

PS: Sorry for the crappy iphone pics. Ill put up some macros when I get some batteries for the digital.

I like the center stack and console more than I thought I would have. The rear ashtrays seem a bit much IMHO. Nice job, though. Looks good.

The upper dash trim is a hell of a job to get out. The entire dash has to be removed. Im thinking about stretchnig it in around those pieces with a pallet knife or something liek that, but Im not sure how well it would turn out, and I don't really want to be spraying adhesive in side my car.

Thanks georgie!

No you definitely should not use this stuff on the front of the car. Maaaayyybeee with some 3M clear bra, but even then its a risk.

Something on the side may work, like a fuel door or handle trim.

it's spelled with a J! How long did the entire process take you? Oh and how's the car running? Any more transmission issues?

Haha I know man. The car has been running fine. Actually, a few months ago though, I hit the gas to pass some semi while going uphill, and the tranny started smoking. I have no idea why, and it hasnt happened since. I called Sergio to ask him about it but got no answer after a couple calls so I let it slip my mind. There are a couple very slight hard shifts every now and then, but overall Im still happy with it. If it goes out again, Ill go to the same place.

Hmm that's weird, but yeah he's been pretty busy/MIA for the past months since he moved (actually lives closer to where I live if you remember). I don't think he's as busy now - you can always try leaving him a VM if the problem persists.

I wanna make a CF dash just because.... (Well, my dash has some little cracks in it, so I think it would be cool to do something different.

What you guys think of a CF dash? (Not shiney of course)

I'm not one for Carbon Fiber interiors, but this sure as hell looks nice on this particular interior color. Very good job, and well done.
