W124 Wheel fitment PLEASE HELP!!
I am looking to put 18x8.5 with 35 offset Brabus Monoblock VI wheels on my 1990 300E. I am prepared to have to roll my fenders but need to know if that's all I need to do or is there much more to it. I would like anyone that has put this size of wheel on their 124 to please respond as to whether they experienced rubbing. For added Info I have lowered my car using Intrax lowering springs, but I am not sure of the height or spring pad# currently in place. I have approximately 1 inch clearance of the wheel wells with 215 45R 17 AMG monblock II's right now.
Some people have said it is possible and that it worked on their car, others that said it won't haven't actually tried...actual trials would be greatly appreciated
Regards,

The pics I have are too large for this forum... I put the taillights froma 94-95 E320, same shape as ours but instead of white and orange up and red down, they are smoked up and red down, i then tinted them slightly darker cause they were too light on a pearl black car and they were turning kinda pinkish grey with age, as they all do.
Please help me with the WHEEL dillemma SOMEBODY!!

8.5" may be too wide for the front of a regular W124, even with a fender roll...it'll work fine in the rear though; depending on the correct offset (35mm is fine for a 500E or SL)
Try calling luke at TireRack...he knows MB rims and their required offsets
Anyway you can try one first?

Out Of Control!!
I've had 2 different sets of 18's on my car and they were both 18x8' but they have different tire izes. ne was 215/35/18 and I now have 225/40/18 and I would definitely recommend the second size. I have intrax springs myself with bump 4 pads up front and bump 3 in the rear with bilstein sport shocks. I had rubbing before I rolled the fendrs but now that I did roll them there is no rubbing (I have rubbed once doing 70 on a 90 degree banked turn with a bump on it). Hope this helps.

I have 18x8.5 mandrus millenniums on my 94 E420.
the offset on the wheels is et 32....
and it took fender rolling, fender flaring in the front
and some negative camber in the rear in addition
to fender rolling to make them stop rubbing.
car is lowered using H&R springs with NO pads.

ChrisDPham - I respect your opinion and agree with it to some point, but what I want to say is that IMO it's better to keep the good threads going regardless of time. There are same subjects that are spread accross tens or hundreds of different posts and that makes it hard to find good info. And alot of people start the new threads, sometimes no realizing that there is a thread that's talking about that same exact thing. You have a lot of posts, and someone new coming to this forum would value and respect your opinion. So IMO your last comment would've influenced people to start a new threads instead of contributing to the existing. That is the only reason I said something. I meant no disrespect and ment to hurt no feelings.

mgw_300e - It is a difficult concept to grasp, isn't it? Specially for someone who posts almost 7.98 times per day. If you really want to know, I can tell you. I spend more time reading than making fun of people and I spend more time on BenzWorld.org. I know you have better things to do than to respond to this, so please don't.

I usually don't let myself to loose my cool, but that comment mgw_300e made got to me.
JennzBenz - you have one of the best looking cars in W124 forum. Do you mind sharing your suspension and tires setup? I just picked up a 93 300ce convertible and looking into lowering and installing amg monoblocks, but from all the research I've done, can't seem to find what I am looking for.
Thank you in advance.

And BTW, my 7.98 posts per day (thanks for taking so much interest in me), although I may post a lot of random joking around, contain a lot of posts that are very informative and contribute highly to this forum. What your 10 posts in 2 years says to me is that you are either never here, or you lurk around without contributing anything. Either way, your opinion doesn't hold a lot of water with me.

HA HA HA OMG that's funny.
Babushka, no harm no foul. No biggie, but people who frequently visit the forum would rather not sift through lots of old posts that are being revived without adding new info. Fredericow124 revived this thread 3 years and 5 months after it started, but he added new info. I personally find that useful. But your defense of frederico didn't really add value to this thread and it was about 5 months after it died. I think that's the issue.
Anyway, you're definitely welcome on this board and we're excited to see what you have in store for your new car!
