300te heater core? faint anti-freeze smell

1989 300te. I have a faint smell of anti-freeze INSIDE the car. I know from my wife's Volvo that the heater core is located INSIDE the car. I replaced her's, and for that model Volvo, it was actually an easy job.
I haven't a clue where the heater core is on my car, and don't want to rip up stuff looking for it. Any assistance would be helpful. I am hoping that the smell is NOT coming from the core, as I fear a ton of work ahead.

Its an absolute PIA....you gotta completely gut the dash.

Before getting into the heatercore...try and see if you can see any coolant leaks on the backside of the engine. I had a coolant leak from the drain plug on the cylinder block and it would send smells of antifreeze into the cabin through the vents.

If it is the heatercore...expect a big job ahead of you.
