I just inherited my Mom's (rest her soul) 1988 300 SEL (with only 88k miles). Look brand new and is a nice car. Only problem is the seats are very uncomfortable for me....I'm used to a BMW (harder seat) so am investigating alternatives. A mechanic has told me about a new frame Mercedes made for the seats that has stronger coils and the horse hair stuffing that is supposed to dramatically help this issue...but you still have the springs for a seat! Is this the only solution out there? Also any solution to the slow starts/power up hills and can I get better cornering from siffer shocks?
Thanks
John

I will be interested about the seat springs. Subscribed.
Don't expect the 300SEL to be a powerful car....there's a lot of weight for the M103 to work with. Stiffer shocks will help with cornering.
