8" might cause some rubbing issues, in which case you would need to roll your fenders.

With 215 45s? I'd confirm that.

I run 17x7.5 et35 aero II monoblocks with 215x50x17 on a lowered Cab with no rubbing.

I've got the same size wheels with 225x45x17 and assorted other similar tire sizes on diff cars.

The 7.5 width and et35 is a very safe choice.

I'd really like to see those wheels on a 124.

My Mono II's (17x8 rear and 17x7.5 front) gave me no problems before my Intrax springs, then I had to roll. BTW Those rims will look absolutely disgusting on a W124 IMO.

in the attached files there are the original alloy wheels.Front and rear.the car has not be lowered as u can see.
Will a 8" cause rubbing even if it has not been lowered?

On my white 1994 Cab, I mounted a set of et35 18x8 Carlsson 1/6s today,
w 225x40x18 tires, no rubbing yet and I gave her a bit of a run.

I've ordered two 225x45x18s to try, since I favor a bit more rubber. Hopefully, will run those all around.

Of course, when the car is lowered, I might not get away with the taller sidewalls, but that's 2010 or later.

It all has to do with offset. Those carlssons have a +40 offset that's why they won't rub. This have been explained tons and tons of times.

YNVDIZ124, Mine are et35, the O.Z. wheels above are also. Has something been explained that I missed regarding Carlssons using a different scale then the AMGs?

No one is talking +40et here, and if we are due to Carlsson using a different scale, it would be helpful to hear this 'splanation?

beefier rims tend to win on these cars.

Well, i've had 3 sets of carlsson evo 1/6 and they all where +40. Some of them came with 10mm spacers. Anyways, 18x8 +35 on a lowered car you will need to do some minor fender rolling and no rolling on a stock suspension. Higher offsets give you more room under the fender. Max offset on these cars depends on width of the wheels. On a 8.5 wheels the max offset before you hit the strut is +42, on a 18x8 wheel you can do +48

Let me put it this way. The backspace of the wheel determines where the tire is centered on the wheel well. A 18x8.5 +40 would clear better than a 18x8 +35 because the +35 offset on 18x8 would be .5" closer to the fender.

YNV, got it, thanks. I do like the idea of being as far out towards the fender as possible with no rubbing.

Are you saying that if I find a set of Carlsson 18x8.5 et 40 to 42, that I could expect to bolt them up on a stock suspension car easily? Those go by now and then I think.

Mounted those et31 aero 1s on the black 380sl today. Nice hand me downs.
