180,000 miles...VERY CLEAN, CLASSIC, MUST HAVE 1988 Mercedes 300ce (w124) LOW MILES. Beautiful gold exterior (never shows dirt) and tan interior. The w124 is generally considered the most reliable Mercedes ever made. As the third owner I am very fortunate to have acquired a well maintained vehicle inside and out. The exterior has an approximate 6 inch scratch on the driver side rear panel. There is also an area where rust has started to develop. It is approximately 1 square inch in the passenger side rear wheel well. There is also a minor ding in the hood that wont even show up in pictures. Additionally there is a crack in the base of the front bumper. Besides these minor defects the overall quality of the exterior is in Great shape. I have recently changed the rotors, brakes, and tires. The wheels are 17” amg aero II style that does show some signs of wear. After adding the 17 inch wheels I had to add lower springs because there was too much space between the wheel and wheel well. The grill and front lights have been changed to give the car a face lift and I have also changed the rear tailights. I didnt want to do too much to the car because I like to have it as a classic look. All options in the vehicle work except for the memory seats. Mechanically the car does have a slight leak with the oil (If you are a benz enthusiast, you will know that all w124 models have this minor inexpensive issue). The front seats show signs of wear but the back seats are in excellent condition. I have replaced the motor in the automatic seatbelt assist and power window switches. Do your research and you will learn that this car still has plenty of life left in it. Many of these models run well into the 300000 mile range. If you need anymore information please email me..I HAVE MORE PICS IF INTERESTED..PLEASE CLICK ON THUMBNAILS FOR A LARGER VIEW

has the head gasket been replaced? you state that there is a minor "inexpensive" oil leak, but if it's the head gasket, that's far from inexpensive to fix!
Otherwise a great looking car for its age.

eek! Well, from what I can tell, this car blue books for around $2,200 in the Seattle area. With the rust, potential head gasket leak, and big chunk missing from the front spoiler, you shouldn't expect much more than blue book...
Sorry man, not trying to rain on your parade, but that's just reality.

1988 300CE Coupe
Nice looking car, but I would have to agree -- not nothing special. I owned my 88 CE back in from 94 - 98. Sold it in 1998 for 12K, and actually brought it back from the owner 2 1/2 yrs ago for $3,500... Good luck...

i will find out if its the head gasket that is causing the leak....i am starting the bid at 3500.00..i dont know if you are new to ebay but you dont have to use option of the buy it now price...its an auction so that means you can bid...and as for the low mileage...i did mention that it has low miles..because for a 1988 car to have 180000 miles on it is considered low...unless the benchmark for low miles has been changed to the combination of ps2cho's w124...i appreciate the time everyone took out to look at the car...furthermore i appreciate all the kind and constructive feedback..

180k is far from "low miles" fairly standard. Actually a little high. My 300e had 130k, my 500e has 120k, the wagons I test drove all had between 150k-200k.
Anyway, the color combo is very cool, but there's no way youre gonna get 7800 for a fixer upper. My 300e only sold for $3500....
