LOW-PROFILE TIRES??

HI everybody,

Recently bought 17x7.5 et35 alloy wheels for my w124.tirerack recommends 215/45/17 for my car.Since it is a very low profile tire, i am afaid that my newly bought rims will be damaged.can anyone recommend me a michelin tire which will be able to protect my rims?OR is it possible to put higher tire profile on my car??

waiting for a reply,
thanks.

There is lots of stuff across the site on this. Start with the stickies up top then the search engine. You'll find tons of info.
Goodluck

As for damage, I don't see any reason to get damaged rims running 215/45/17 unless you are driving up curbs

LOL...when you mentioned low profile I thought 25 series or something. 45's should be fine.

I would run 225.

When youre running a 225 width tire, a 45 series is actually just as tall as a 55 series on a 185 width tire. The second number in a tire's size is actually not size itself, but aspect ratio in relation to tire width.

So don't be scared by the numbers themselves. If you already knew this than sorry for the over-explanation! haha Welcome to the boards.
