500E WITH 2005 E55 MOTOR
Personally, I would sell the E55K powertrain and use the proceeds to finance a supercharged 6.0L M119. You'd end up with the same ~500hp, but with a LOT less work, and everything would be a relatively simple bolt-up (other than fabbing the blower drive & IC plumbing - child's play compared to E55K electronics). The supercharged M119 setup has already been proven to work by both Albrex and Koenig. It would really suck to get halfway into the E55K swap and either run out of money, or find out the "guy to wire it up" can't make it work. I'd kinda like to see you go for it, and find out the result, I just want to make sure you really understand how tough this is gonna be.
BTW, about the tranny... if you use the older 722.3 tranny, the factory computers won't be happy (they'll expect to see data from the 722.6)... if you do go this route, an aftermarket standalone controller for the engine would likely make more sense. Tuning it will be a RPITA though... dozens of hours on the dyno and then even more on the street to dial it in.
You'll still probably lose ABS, ASR, and cruise control. I figure you'll just give up the cruise, and probably install LSD to make up for the lack of ASR, but I sure wouldn't want to lose ABS. Speaking of which, you'll want some serious braking power for a 500hp W124. Check out the StopTech kit, it's a straight bolt-on.
