AMG of Japan was a entity that did what they felt would sell in the JDM market. The tuned 400e was something designed and sold just for that market. They also did many other unique projects for the JDM market as well. AMG of Japan also designed and marketed many unique AMG parts that were never sold in other countries and were never in the EPC. The 500e AMG exhaust is a good example.
