This is WEIRD! Check this out!!
As I turned the gas cap off, gasoline started to flow out!! quite a lot, actually. once it stopped, after about 3-4 seconds, i replaced the cap. I let the car sit for over an hour and i took the cap off again... same thing happened, this time, not so much gas came out.
Should I be concerned? Or should I just assume it was the gas pump that overfilled my tank?
the air/smog pump just got replaced 2 weeks ago, I haven't been having any problems since and the car has been running great!
do you think it might have to do with the new air pump, fan belt or bearing bracket i replaced? or any of the parts i had to mess with to replace those parts?

hopefully it's a simple fix on those lines! good luck!
i pulled out the rug in the trunk and checked out the hose... guess what I found. A kink in the line!!
how do i go about replacing that hose?
how do i turn off the Check Engine light?

Can you straighten out the hose manually? I'm pretty sure you can't just use any type of rubber hose for a fuel line, so check an auto parts store and they may be able to help you out.
I would hope that the check engine light would turn itself off after the problem is solved, but you may have to disconnect the battery after you fix the hose, an then reconnect it and see if that resets it. i'm sure someone on here will know for sure how to reset it, i'm just guessing at this point.
