Best Ways to Increase Performance 300e W124
I have just purchased a 1986 Mercedes 300e W124 3.0 liter with 100k miles and so far i have changed the battery, spark plugs, air filter, and new oil. The car runs great but i dont know where to start adding performance parts.. So if each person can post what the have done to their cars that has undoubtedly increased their cars performance, starting with the first modifacations you made to your stock Mercedes. Also post what you believe is a waste of time and/or money give brand names and try to be detailed!! Thanks!

^ Pretty much. These engines were over-engineered for their day. Even the air intake cannot be beaten with an aftermarket option including filter. So unless you have a ton of extra money, keep it stock and buy something else for performance.
The best you can get in reality is changing the cat and ditchign the precats for a good 8-10HP, but that's about it other than doing the mosselman turbo.
Just leave the engine stock, make her visually appealing to you and leave her alone!!
