Tires question

Hi,

I am currently running with 195/55/15 tires on all 4 of rims. It's time to change tires and I am thinking to put 195/55/15 front and 205/50/15 on rear....or should I just go 205/50/15 of all 4 of them?
My rims are oem.

Thanks.

Stick with the same height all around or the ABS light can active on the freeway. I know because it happened to me when I was running 40:50. You can change width without problems though.

Thanks for the info.

I guess I will go with 205/65/15 then.....
I believe the oem rims are 15x6.5...and I wonder whether it's ok to go with 205/60/15.
If I check the tire fitment sticky, it shows that I should go with 205/65/15....

Stock size is 196/65-15.
205/60-15 is an acceptable substitute
205/65-15 is marginally bigger and fine to use.

A recommended size for W124's is 205/60/R15.
There is a little difference between these and 205/65/R15 (3%) but a great difference with your previous size; 195/55/R15 (-5%); which are smaller. But if you compare the 205/65/R15 with your previous, the difference is even great: 8% taller. Take it into account!
I should change 4 wheels to recommended size.

Thank you for the replies.

Ok, one more question here.
If I get 205/60/15, do I get more gap between tires and fender? I don't want to get more gap but then 205/65/15 will be heavier than 195/55/15 so I don't want that either.

you will get less gap with the bigger tire, and your grip will be a bit better, finally your speedometer will be more accurate because your current tire is too small, causing the car to appear faster than it really is .......

Also giving you better fuel economy because a bigger tire rolls a longer distance than a smaller tire when they both turn once.

Right now the illusion of speed is really all you have as the smaller tires turn quicker and make the engine turn quicker, making the speedometer read higher than your actual speed.
