'94~'95 headlights fit in a '93 coupe?

Does anyone know if the upgraded '94~'95 headlights will fit in a '93 W124 coupe? I prefer the look and performance of those.

The '94 models were slightly different than the '93 models. In order to make the headlights fit, I think you'd also need the '94 hood, front fenders, and bumper.

Enzo, my Benzo
Mbtech is partially correct in that you DO need the hood for the new style lights (94-95) to fit, but you do NOT need the fenders or bumper.

Personally and according to other enthusiasts, another great way to update the look of the pre-94 w124 for substantially less money is to put in the european headlights for your car (You can order them from your Mercedes dealer or Bekkers imports etc..) These lights are a much better lighting, even better than the US spec 94-95 headlights and the are clean one piece units like the 94-95, just in the same shape as your old ones. What you will have to do is then is remove the wiper assembly and purchase new filler panels without holes where the headlight wipers used to be because the euro headlights need the euro wiper assembly(which can also be ordered thru MB). In my opinion the euro headlights look better without any of the useless wipers...

The next and best step to update and make your Benzo more aggressive and sporty is to have the whole grille (chrome surround and insert) painted the same color as the body. Many of us have done this (including me on my pearl black 300E) and it looks great! One word of caution, auto paint doesn't stick too well to chrome so I'd advise you to cover it with the 3M clear bra adhesive about 1 week after painting it to avoid rock chips and peeling. After the 3M stuff, it's really durable.

Hope that helps

So in order to get the clear lenses on e-bay you must also get a new hood on w124 before 94 and headlight wipers just don't work with any aftermarket headlight assemblys?

thsi guy had those on his 300td a earlier model. and it doesn't work too well w/ the older hood, but thats how he was rockin it. it looked OK, might look better on a sedan rather than the gold wagon. post pix

you do not need to update the hood, bumper etc to put the 94-95 lights on a 93. but they will have the indentation for the updated hood.

now if you want to update the hood, you would have to also update the lights, and the newer hood does not work witht he pre 94 headlights.

My suggestion, is get your self a pair of euro headlights for your model. if you like the monotoned look, go ahead and have all the chrome and body panels color matched tot he car it will give it a more updated and sporty look.

ex 300E driver
I had to do the E320 conversion to my 300E. I got tired of the huge grill on the 300E. Just spend the $350 on the hood, and buy those headlights. You will love the front of your car with the E320 look. I also painted my body panels the same color as my car. It subtracted years off the cars look.

crystal clear headlight...

wow, I am currently looking to update the front of the benzo with the european headlights but looking at those things, I think i'm having a change of heart, those look great! Very sporty and modern, and, IMO, not too crazy for the conservative body on of the w124

Go for it!

oh yea and I agree with that grill on the fifth picture, nice!

Zorro: Would I really need to get the wipers removed? They would not fit right even if you left them on? would I have to remove them no matter what?

I think it looks OK even you don't change the grill

Better way is to paint the grill frame with body match color and paint the grill insert black! just my opinion

And then you can put this on when you paint the grill

I think this kind of conversion will cost you less than $200
