gearbox swap?

Folks,

I'm considering to swap my manual gearbox to automatic, is anyone did that in this forum? If it so what is the most consideration about this kind of swaping? Or just looking for the real automatic one?

Thanks for the brighten

Regards,

U mean buy the at one? I did read mikalev who did rebuild the gearbox & full restoration but still wait for his definition about rebuild. Because the condition is very good and it already cause me some money to fix&changing part, that's why considering swap

Thx for responding

seems most US cars are auto, which makes our 5speed gear box cars rare. One of the reasons I'm looking at whats required to bring my Italia MB back to the states.

yes, looking into it. I bought it here in Italy but would like to bring it back to the States, but if its too expensive I will just sell it here. Shipping won't cost me anything, its just the import/reg fees is what I'm looking into.
