Fuel pump has become noisy
Lately I've noticed that my fuel pump is making a loud noise. Louder and higher pitched than the normal whine.
Also, I noticed the oil smells a bit like gas, which I understand may be a rich setting. Could this be the fuel pump or is it something like the o2 sensor?
Thanks

The oil smells like gas?? Are you sure you are not confusing gas smells in the engine bay?
A noisy fuel pump is a good indication is failure imminent. I'd just keep driving it until it goes bang. Might still last a few more years. Assuming you are sure it is coming from the pump you can decide to be proactive and replace it, or just drive until it gives out.

The noise is coming from the rear of the car. I assume it can be nothing but the pump.
Oddly, it doesn't always make noise. In fact I have noticed either on hot days or on longer drives it makes noise

My fuel pump assembly makes zzzzzzzzzz noise some times at early start and slightly jerks. Some times even when on motion but no jerk.
Could this be Fuel Pomp or Filter? They are just about a year old.
The car has one pump and one filter.
