Recaro C's on EBay
Thought someone might be interested. I'm after them in parchment to replace the front seats. These seem to be the hot ticket in the 500e's if you are going to replace them. I have no connection to the seller just thought someone might want em.

oh no kidding? Good to know. These seats look pretty cool, I think the lighter colors are probably even more rare than black ones. I'm sure they'll come around at some point. Thanks for the heads up.

this is the only beige/tan color Recaro offered, right? Or are we saying there is a different shade, or do I just have the name of the color wrong? These look so sweet, I'll find em' soon enough..

Colors were basic but none matched the eighties Mercedes leather options.
The only way you will find a Merc color match is to locate an AMG upgrade set or one that was retrimmed to merc spec.
The chance of finding is not so good.
The seats were a $10K option from AMG so the market is very thin and priced accordingly.
Best to buy what you find and have them retrimmed.
Cost about $1200.00 for Merc leather retrim.
I'll post pix of a set that I'm having done in Palomino with the perforated center sections.
You'll have to devise mounting.
Seats are only power back adjust, manual forward/rear adjust.
You can adapt to stock Merc rails but seat may sit too high for your comfort.
Seats are heated with pneumatic bolster adjust, all other adjustments are by hand knob.
Original switches on the control panel are no longer available, but I've sourced some modern replacements.
If you really want them, then buy the black set and get retrimmed.
My guess is that the black set will go for around $800.00 as is.
Good Luck

Great info, you guys are ontop of your ***** around here, I appreciate that. The shop that I use down here may be able to match them for me. You think 1200 per seat is fair price to do it?

Recaro specific mounting brackets are available via Ebay.de, I see them all the time.

Difficult to find in the USA..
End up around $500.00 for the set when a $50.00 set of Jeep CJ7 and some miscellaneous channel and angle will give the same result !!!

The auction I posted is 194 euro shipped to USA, and the seller accepts paypal. So thats right around $238 US dollars shipped for a pair. Thats a pretty good price.
Nice to know there are alternatives though. Did you document this anywhere?

just FYI, if you want anything off of ebay.de and the seller won't ship here, I've got a guy who bids on my behalf and ships for me.

Depending on the adapter, the W124 (some 260E or Euro) manual seat brackets bolt on. Nick in the UK adapted the power bottoms (there's a YouTube video of it) which may be a problem for taller drivers but it has all the front back, up down power adjustment. My OE sliders have front back and slide forward at an angle adjustment. There is also knob that supposed to push up the front but it's useless with the Recaro adapter, see my wagon thread.
I love the feel of these seats and they have great lateral support. I miss the power base adjustments but that's a small downside...

Buying from Ebay of Germany is no big deal, exchange rates are good and shipping is not too high, biggest problem is finding sellers willing to ship to the USA and that accept Paypal. But since the Recaro brackets are always on Ebay.de, its not difficult to find a willing seller. I bought a set for my CLK, it wasn't problematic at all and made the installation simple (actually I buy alot of parts from Ebay.de)

If it's for a pair then it's not so bad...
Have the fabricated parts laid out with the CJ7 manual rails, but need to get the seats back from thr trim shop to do a proper fit..

Install the Google tool bar for IE, it can automatically translate web pages in different languages to English. Since English grew out of the Germanic language, the word for word translation is very good (not so good for Russian or Japanese though)

I can't see anywhere in the listing that the auction is for a pair.
Emailed the seller for clarification.
If it's for one side only, it's not such a good deal !!!

You buy by purchasing a Buy new, original packaging , high-quality , BOTH SIDES Incorporable seat panel said better ( one seat adapter , as there is a part of the standard seat substructure , as well as the rails continue to be , but " adapter " is rarely used as a search term in the search ), brand Recaro ( Manufacturer SKU: 85.51.09 / 855 109 ) for the following Mercedes - BenzVehicle models:

I am going off of the statement "Both Sides" but the translation is not that clear. Further into the description is does say "one seat adapter", so you might be right. Let us know what the seller says.

I take "both sides" as meaning rails are suitable for "both" driver and passenger side.
Only one part number is indicated and the part number indicates one set.
I also show part numbers 85.50.09 and 85.52.09 as adapters for the W124.
Not sure of the difference as my info comes from the original installation instructions.

P.S.
No response from the EBAY DE seller and the business day has closed in Germany at this writing.

You could very well be right.
Your part numbers are for very old W124's built in 1985, the 85.51.09 is listed for everything built after 5/85.
I found this file to be helpfull, at least for Recaro bracket part numbers, it came in handy to verify proper part numbers for my CLK.
Oh, here is another for $160 euro, this one does specifically state "Driver and Passenger"

The set on ebay are a great price, although the driver side has very deep cracking, which is very difficult to rectify. The passenger side has a tear also.
He has these listed on a Porsche forum that I frequent & he sent me some high res pictures. PM me if you would like me to forward them on.
AMGTDNJ - the biege seats in the picture you posted are mine. They're currently wrapped up & waiting for my decision on which car to put them in! Onlt set I've ever come across in that color. Just before I bought them, I missed out on a NOS set covered in Palamino - amazing... I would have changed the rest of my interior for those seats.

Also, I weighed the stock electric seats that I took out earlier today and they are 30kg each. I gave the weight of the electric Recaro C above. The manual version with no bolster adjustment weighs slightly less at 24kg. Thus today's seat swap saved a whopping 3.5kg!
