Couple of questions about "oil leak" problems (1993 E300)?
Recently I did a oil change and the mechanic told me that he noticed multiple oil leak spots. This is a 1993 E300 that only has 54K miles. Some questions:

- Can it be a DIY project if I try to figure out where the oil was coming frm (leaking)? Currently it only leaks a little bit on the garage floor, and when I open the engine hood, I can not see where it's leaking right away...
- Based on your experience, what are the most possible cause for the leaking? (which one is most probably? front of engine - timing case cover that leaking or the front main seal? top of the engine - bad valve cover gasket or bad head gasket? or something else?
- If the car is only used once a while (e.g. only 1000 miles every year), generally speaking, would the oil leaking problem go really bad in the next couple of years? or it depends?
- What are the average parts cost for the following items: (1) valve cover gasket, (2) head gasket, (3) timing case cover, (4) front main seal.
