300CE "glass" sunroof panel for sale

I sent "gardnerautopartsstore" a note that the title is wrong and miss leading. He saw nothing wrong with it and said to read the description

Reported on the basis of intentionally misleading listing title

Im tempted to do this too, but im afraid of air/ water leaks
I measured them both and the W210 is about 1/16" narrower, the length is the same and the "flatness" seems close. I haven't verified the corner radius' but they look close on MercedesMania's car. Leaks are a possible but if it's a small leak, the "pocket" has the channel drain for that. Air leaks or noise may be more annoying. I can get the assembly but can't really take my sunroof apart right now. Hopefully the pocket frames are close in dimension. It looks like you lose an 1 1/2" headroom for the sliding panel and would have to modify the headliner for it. After all the work it would be a nice option.

i wont be able to stand the air leaks noise!

maybe a custom made one + the other parts from a W210 will do better

If it's really only 1/16" difference in total width, a new sunroof gasket should cure any potential air leaks. The new gaskets are TIGHT.

I got the assembly, it's in a metal frame similar to the stock assembly but with a pocket for the sliding panel. Anyone have their headliner off that can take some measurements of the mount holes centers side to side? This one is 37 3/16" and 46" long to edge of flanges. Ideally I should have both assemblies side by side to compare features and dimensions. I actually discarded one when I dismantled my sedan. One notable difference is the motor is mounted in front to the assembly so another decision is whether to use the W210 or adapt the stock W124 drive systeml...

Just preparing right now, I have so many projects with higher priority this will likely sit in my storage for awhile...unless someone who's ready now wants to buy it.

I'll make a quick template of the corners to see how close they are...

I'll take measurements on a W124 next time I'm at the yard. No sense in buying one where I'll end up with two I don't need.

The front motor was a surprise, If I use it, I'll need the W210 switch and any associated components.

At least we know someone had done this conversion we just have to figure out the extent of fabrication and if it's production worthy. A show car is one thing but if you're going to drive this everyday it will have to fit and work durably.

Any update on this wonderful option? I need to repair my sunroof, and would love to do this instead of just a repair.

Bumpity Bump

Would somebody still have the measurements of the sun roof, especially of a 1995 E420? I am trying to figure out if the W140 or W202 would fit. On the face of it ... W202 looks similar, size wise

Much appreciate it
