Evolution II - wheels

Looks great but damn... Boston roads just feel so much worse... If only they'd spend more money fixing these stupid roads...

A few enhancements - to be Y2K-compliant!

What do you guys think? This is a 1995 E420.

What kind of comment is that? Is he supposed to just spend 5k on a paint job cause you don't like it? LOL It may not be the best color out there, but the work he has put in doesn't merit you calling it nasty....

Was considering of getting it painted to BLACK. However, my paint shop guy was commenting that the body kit has nice contours and lines, and if I get it done in black, the contours and lines will not be defined.

And the only white merc in singapore are Taxis! Red is out for me, blue is no go, silver is the most popular colour in Singapore....

I went for the bronze which is found on the W210, which is brighter than the W124 bronze.

BTW, who's interested in the kit and my rims get a consolidated order and own shipping... I try to sneak out some just for you guys

PM me. I may not be available till late August. Been called up for national service commitment. Will be in the jungle for 3 weeks.

I think the reason you cannot lower a 4-matic is not the lack of aftermarket parts, its that lowering the car would affect the operation of the 4-matic system. The suspension is the same as other W124's, just that it will mess things up if the ride height (affecting the axels as well) is changed..

You're gonna have to live with the 4x4 look :p

I need to dig out the contact for the Australian spring makers once I finished my national service.

They can custom make any spring for any car, at any ride height, at any spring rate, etc...

I paid about US$450 including shipping from Australia to Singapore.
:p

This is a PICTURE thread so lets keep these diccusssions in PM's or in a new thread, but to answer for once and for all:

Take your car to a Benz certified mechanic or a dealership and ask THEM(not a bodyshop) if cutting the springs will hurt the suspension geometry or the 4WD system. 4-Matic is VERY expensive to repair and I doubt you will want to spend thousands shortly after lowering your car only an inch. It's not worth it and doubt the parents would like it if you f$%ked up the car after buying it a short time ago.

Now back to the PICTURES...
:p
