W124 300E 3.4 AMG

got it a couple of months ago. The car is located in Lebanon (yes its a country) and i work in Canada/USA.
I drove it only for around 30 km (i had to leave to Canada) and i can tell it needs some light work done on the fuel delivery system, suspension is starting to get tired, the rest is pretty much good for its age.
Here are some pictures
the car will be getting the original front hood and headlights

let me know what so you think

in my head...0-100km is 2 seconds (thats how much i like my car lol)

seriously talking, should be close to the C36 i say maybe a bit more...so lets say 6.5 seconds? how does that sound.

I cant find much info about that car, like 0-100, how many were made ...

Hey, those are good enough numbers. I figured that with close to C36 displacement/power, the 300ce should be about just as fast. The cars weigh almost the same, but I think we have a slightly higher ratio final drive.

If you don't mind, I'd LOVE to see some videos of it in action and to hear it Give me faith that it is worthwhile to fix mine up and do the 3.5L conversion.

me and the car aint in the same country for the moment but i will sure post videos as soon as i get back from my work trip.
I said close to the C36 but im planning to be on par with a C36 with just a few tricks (nothing major). we will see....
it is totally worth it man. Before this i hade my M103 turbocharged and it was fantastic! this chassis is amazing and with the right suspension its an A+ car

Is it too much to ask for you to like, document what you do? What the tricks are etc, and whether or not they helped? Its kind of hard to find good documentation on what to do and etc (parts, numbers, etc).

nothing much but playing around with timing and fuel. maybe trying to get a custom shorter diff would help too. I am concerned on power from 0 to 160 so a shorter diff will definetly help. Timing tricks will do wonders on those engines!

After a lot of searching over the net, i was able to run my vin!
here is what i got:

Option Code Description
199 blue-black metallic paintwork
211 automatic limited slip differential (ASD)
240 outside temperature indicator
241 left front seat electrically adjustable with memory feature
243 sports seats in front and rear
271 black leather
281 steering wheel with sports design and gearshift in leather trim
291 airbag for driver and front passenger
300 storage box in front tray
412 electric sliding roof with tilting device
425 5-speed automatic transmission
430 headrests in the rear
440 tempomat (cruise control)
441 steering column electrically adjustable
480 self-levelling suspension
531 automatic antenna
543 sun visor with vanity mirror, illuminated
551 anti-theft warning system
580 air conditioner
584 electric window lifters (front and rear doors)
593 heat-insulating glass, all-around, heated rear window pane, single- sheet safety glass, band filter
600 headlamp wiper/washer
620 exhaust emission control
645 M+S tires (snow tires)
673 high-capacity battery
682 fire extinguisher
731 wood trim, burred walnut root
752 radio Mexico 2000 RDS
810 sound package
873 seat heater
877 reading lamp in the rear
915 fuel tank with increased capacity

None of the amg codes! but i think this is due to the fact that this car is a pre-merger car...so no amg codes where available in 1991.

I also got the service or workshop manual for the AMG E/CE/TE 3.4 from germany and it is in german it is titeled: introduction written for the customer service (picture attached)

What part of Lebanon are you in/from? bekaa? What did you pick it up for if you don't mind me asking? Last time I was there, w124's were fetching quite a bit of $$$.

AMG options encoded in the VIN started in 1992.

Wow, they should've called that a "E34"! Wish my '89 300E packed that kind of punch

Nice car chlippo!!!

The 17x10" rear would never fit a standard W124 body. Those wheels were initially designed for the W126 but are also suitable for the R129 and the W124.036.
