W124 AMG steering wheel

hey as most of you guys know i have the 1987 AMG 3.2
i want to try to find an orignal AMG steering wheel to go on this.
I do have the one with an air bag but i want a wheel with NO air bag.

also i am trying to add on all the EXTRAS that AMG would have offered for this car that the orignal owner did not get.

I plan on redoing the leather on the interior. going with the grey seats with out line in black with "AMG" embroiderd on the back rest

i just installed EURO lights today

if any one else knows of any "ADDS" AMG offered to the W124 please let me know

I had an early AMG West grey market import supposedly a show car. It was wrecked and I couldn't find AMG documentation so I chose not to repair it and removed the unique parts.

It had a 4 spoke wheel with a center cover and raised embossed AMG and 4 horn buttons. It was Italian made and I've seen another version w/o the AMG and other center covers for other tuners. It was a very light wheel and nice thick diameter.

I also got Recaro Classic's that were an AMG option. You can still get new Zebrano wood kits. The AMG options are well documented.

I don't have the wheel anymore and the Recaros are in my wagon. I do have a very rare zspot speaker system custom fit to the rear shelf that I'd part with. I also have some Zebrano trim but they have some scratches.

What you are asking really has no answer.
AMG offered whatever the client wanted and at times beyond what was catalogued.
Different franchises in various countries offered different parts.

As far as the steering wheel, there are several types.
I'm using the "Silberfeil" from Atiwe which was one of the AMG suppliers.
Still trying to source the old logo AMG center cap.
You can find these from time to time on EBAY and often at a great price.
I paid $50.00 for mine and refinished it.

i found quite a few things on ebay.de but am having trouble communicating with the people in germany giving that i dont know any dutch! is their any way to communicate with them?

also i have a 1981 240D 4spd manuel. I just found out i need a flywheel.their is not 1 here in the states and the dealer is the only place i have had luck but dang $500 at wholesale thats robbery given the fact that i also need a clutch kit as well and when you figure 1K of a clutch job its almost as much as the car is worth. if anyone can find one for me or if any one can fabricate one and be cheeper than the dealer let me know

more inportantly getting in touch with the people on ebay.de so i can buy many parts

you will defiantly struggle to communicate with gremans in dutch, germans speak german, people from holland speak dutch!!! lol.

there is a translator service on google, just type in good old english (american?) and press the button.

ebay.de often wont even deal with uk customers in my experience, i have brought a few items from there, but they often wont post unless you send cheque, which i wont do with foreign purchases.

True hard to deal with them if you don't know German. Lucky i had a friend over there before who helped me out to get some parts.. Not Mercedes though..
There is always a risk on buying over there at times.. You just have to be lucky enough sometimes... No paypal for them..

I had to buy the whole car to get my Amg steering wheel lol....:-)

It is in awsome shape, n rips or tears!

my question:
1: how do you install this wheel. i do not know how to get the airbag off the one currently on their.

2: how you you put the turn signal and cruise controle in, the one i just got does not have holes cut out for it.

i will post pictures with in a hour or so

Steering wheel/airbag removal instructions are here; www.2phast.com/500e look under "interior" and scroll down till you come to it.

No need to mess with the turn signal or cruise control assembly.

If you remove the airbag, your going to end up with the SRS light on in the dash, so either you just ignore it or you pull the cluster and remove the bulb.
