Engine Reving Different than actual driving

Engine Reving Different than actual driving
So when I have my car on and in the Park Position Or Neutral and I try to rev the engine I here the motor and sounds like it's suck up a bunch of air (I know thats good) But the Exhaust sounds weak even over 30,000 RPM

Now when I'm on Drive or any other Driving Gears and I step on it and the RPM's exceed 30,000 the car sounds like a beast!!!

What could this possibly be? maybe a Mercedes thing?
