w124 Turbo kit please help locate!?!?!?!?!?!
im looking for a turbo kit for my 91 300E. i know that mosselman and turbo tecnicks made kits for this car at one point or another. im looking for one of these complete kits. does anyone know where either is available. i know they both stopped making them and they are hard to come by so any help is much appreciated.
also ive been out of the game for a year or two now, but is there possibly any other kits being made by someone that im not aware of?
any help is appreciated
thanks
Mosselman/TT only pumped out ~320 bhp, by the way. It doesn't justify the price tag, for me. I'd go custom, which is what I'm aiming to do.
As soon as I start collecting the parts, I will start a build thread you can monitor and exchange ideas in.
If you know what you're doing, get the TurboBandit turbo manifold, find the appropriate turbo, and fabricate the rest (intercooler, oil feeds, etc...). Personally, I'm going to build my own manifold as ~1200$ for the TB manifold is a bit too pricey for me.
It remains though that TurboBandit are one of the only shops I know offering turnkey solutions for the M104, and that is awesome. If I had the money to do a full exclusive Turbo Bandit setup, I would.
i know at some point there were a few kits still available out in the uk somewhere for the turbo tecknicks kits. if i recall correctly they were at a MB dealer and they had 2 left from old stock. the price was around 1000Eur to 2000 eur.
i used to have a number where it was, now i cant remember. anyone know of anything like this around?
it was purchased, as a job lot, by the same guy who has the last original amg wide body metalwork for a 124 coupe.
the parts are in a top secret location, guarded by gnomes, near Greenwich, in london...
he posts very very occasionally.
there is one other kit a speculator brought, and is occasionally on ebay uk for 2000 gbp, but it is for a 104 engine.
ii dont think you will find a turbo technics kit for a 103, you will have to make up some custom stuff.
Here is a pic of the "treasure trove" you speak about...it does exist !!!
Note the TT bits and pieces in the lower right hand corner and the NOS AMG aero parts to the rear of the shed.
The aero parts were acquired from Duncan Hamilton when they sold their AMG inventory.
The second pic I post with much trepidation as it may reveal the identity of the keeper of the treasure.
He is shown holding the elusive only known left rear wheel arch from the NOS AMG C124 widebody kit..
Look for a man in green wellingtons and make him an offer !!!
Keep up the good work young man...you'll get that wheel round soon enough !!

I know of no vehicles other then his or those local to him that have any of his "kits" installed.
He has yet to document with any dyno charts, only numerical printouts which do not define the shape of the power curve.
No 1/8 or 1/4 mile time slips or even data from something like a G-Tech pro three axis accelerometer.
Not negating what he has done, but I wouldn't spend any money on performance without seeing typical before and after emprical data..
Also by his own posts reliability has been an issue..
Don't sell the TT or Mosselman short...
They were limited by the enrichment electronics at the time.
Modern electronics that you and I have discussed produces great gains.
I can prove my install by multiple dyno runs..
Taking the RWP numbers and adding back the known drive train losses give me 340HP and 393 torque at the crank...and that is at about .5 bar...
Don't get hung up on claims without proof..
Almost 400ftlbs of torque make a 124 M103 as fast as later NA AMG 5.4 V8's in an install that has been proven to be reliable for installs that are 15+ years old and with 150K miles on the install !!!

You make good points, yet again. Somebody should contact TurboBandit and tell them to do so. It's a strong selling point they can and should use if they're legit.
Ortolan, that looks to be a wicked coupe.
