1992 Mercedes 300E
1992 300E w/ 144,000 Miles.
Put LOTS of money into it (~$10K) replacing things at the dealership while it was under warranty that had overtly failed but looked "worn" so it cost me hardly anything. Just spent $3K on the AC on my dime. The reason: I still like this car better than anything that you could buy new under $30K, the interior and exterior still looks better than most new cars, and there are no squeaks, rattles, etc... AND I'm still as happy driving it as I was the day that I bought it. These cars are not cheap to fix, but take care of them and they will be a pleasure to own long after a lesser car has lost it's appeal.

2010 VW Golf TDI
I’m with Santron and JER.
It may not be cheap to keep them up to like new condition, but if you do, you will have a magnificent vehicle that rivals virtually any new car. I love my car and I don’t intend to buy another car in my lifetime. I think it is that good.

300TE / 300E / 300CE
I just got this perfect example of a 1987 300E with a RENNTech 3.6 motor, rebuilt trans, AMG 3 piece wheels, and other goodies. Only 145k miles on body (it does NOT show) and ~30k on motor. Whoeeee!!
