just purchased a '93 300ce coupe with the sportline option. answered an add on autotrader for a 300ce coupe.
no mention of the sportline option. i was delighted to say the least. it was on a lot in the seedier side of town. no idea how they obtained such a car but there it was.
they had no idea what is was. after a hour or so bartering back and forth and sharing a fatty i got the car for $3317.00. could be the score of the year. picking it up tomorrow. pic's to follow. now that i found a coupe, the cabrio is now for sale. pm me for details.

That is the second recent story here of a Sportline sale where the owner did not know what he had. Looking forward to pics and more info, glad it wasn't the car that smoked up.

after several days of thought i've decided to keep the cabrio. too nice a car to give up.
the coupe will go up on the rack next week for a complete inspection. after that i'll make a decision about keeping or selling. would like to keep both. have a parking problem so it's a tough decision.
i'll take pic's next week an post. color is amethyst w/parchment interior, 210K on the clock. no leaks, good belts and hoses. everything works. motor is strong, suspension is terrific.
some paint issues and some small damage to the r/r corner. about $600 for my buddy to fix.

the interior has some trim pieces the need attention. seats are good, dash is crackfree.

a/c and shifter wood cracked. livable but there. carpet and headliner good. rear headrests and parcel shelf good. leftside glass damaged w/scratchs. will need replacement.
car runs and drives strong. apparently it received good care over the years. no idea how long it will last but i believe it's a rare car that should stay on the road. comments welcome.

o.k. got the car up on the rack. power steering pump leaks so the undercarriage is wet. rear dif mounts need replacing. everything else seems to check out. possible problems might include oil pan gasket, tranny pan gasket, rear dif seals.
my landlord notified me this morning i'm only allowed two cars. i also have a p/u so something has to go. can't give up the cabrio so the coupe is the odd man out. still waiting for the title from dmv. should be here shortly.
i've got 30 days to get down to two cars so here's the deal. i'll take $3000 for the coupe. just paid the reg so your good to go for a year. this is a great candidate for a shade tree mechanic who's handy with a wrench. when complete, you'll have a rare sportline coupe. pm me if interested.
