BATHURST 1000 Australia Biggest Motor Race
It's that time of year again guys for those race fans.
Australia's Biggest Motor Race the Bathurst 1000 is run and won and for the last time it will only include GM and Ford vehicles.

Next year there are entries from Mercedes Benz AMG (E Class) and Nissan which promises to breathe new life into what is really a motor racing spectacle.
Shame that coverage in the USA reduced to youtube channel but better than none.
The race is 1000kms (600 miles) around a mountain road circuit near Bathurst in NSW.
Average speed during the race is 178 km/h (110 mp/h) with the fastest part of the circuit cars have reached 298 km/h (185 mp/h).
This is real spectacle with turns galore climbing and descending and well worth having a watch if you've never seen it before.
Here's a link to a facts page for you to peruse :
Fast facts: Bathurst 1000
In 2013 those of you around Austin Texas will get to see a race live at the Circuit of the Americas between 17-19 May as they are running one of the rounds in the US !
Incidentally current NASCAR Driver and winner at Watkins Glen this year Marcus Ambrose competed in this race several times in a Ford early in his career.

Get this guys after 1000kms the winning margin was
0.3 s
Can you believe that ?? Holy Heck !
"...JAMIE Whincup has beaten David Reynolds to team with Paul Dumbrell to win a race of the ages at Mount Panorama today.
In 30 of the most intense, relentless and high-pressure laps contested in the 50-year history of the Great Race, Whincup held off attack after attack from Reynolds to win his fourth Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
Whincup won by just 0.3s after the final five laps saw the two streak away from the field as they battled for the win. ..."
