Tires and Rims for my w124

Hi, I have a 1994 E320 (W124) and I wanted to put some new rims and tires. Right now I have the stock 15" rims. I really want my car to look like its big sister the 94 E500. What would be the best MB rims to buy either 17" or 18" if they fit, and how much would they cost each plus tires? If you know anyone selling some please let me know.

Thanks,

16 or 17's
18 will stiffen the ride and you will need to be more conscious of rub issues but you can fit them just not with big "fatties".
17 x 7.5 is an ideal size with an ET (offset) of around 35 but no lower than 30 and no more than about 37. Looks for 225 or 235 width tyres.
You can fit 8 inch under there but you need to watch the offset and tyre width !

On another note I would be looking for MB wheels rather than "no namers".
The MB has a unique big center bore of 66.5 wich is much bigger than other manufacturers. You cannoit fit wheels that have a smaller center bore. (The center bore is the part thew wheel actually sits onto and supports the weight not the bolts as most think !)

You are also looking for 5x112 PCD and 12 x 1.5 bolt thread.
This is important because most late model MB's went to 5x112 PCD + 14 x 1.5 bolt thread)

I mentioned 16's because they are larger, a lot of sporty looking wheels, AMG etc are available for them and they will have less impact on your quality of ride whilst still achieving a more sports like stance.

For example on flea-bay here is some late model 16x8's which from his descripton would fit.

Or some AMG Style 1's

There's a sticky thread on this forum about wheels etc - have a read.

Where are you located? I've got some 17" staggered monoblocks, but I prefer not to ship.

I'm located North East of San Antonio. Do you have a picture? Are they just rims? Or rims with tires?

Rivcal, do you still have the mono blocks? Are they chrome? Tires? I'm looking for a set for a 95 e320 cab. I am also looking to lower it by 1.5". I'm in Laguna Niguel.

Sorry, I did not see your response until now. Here is a copy of the PM I just sent Onash"

Yes, I still have some. I actually have 2 sets of staggered 17x7.5" and 17x8.0". They are painted, not chrome, and some have tires, but I not a full set, and not much useable tread. You could take four of any you want, staggered or not. Though, I would like to keep at least 2 8.5" for myself to either run staggered or 4 8.5".

They are not in great shape right now, I got them from a junkyard with the intent to refinish and sell them for $600-$700.

If you'd like to wait until I finish them, that is the price. Just tell me which you prefer, and I will start on them right away. Or, if you'd like to take them as is, my price is $350 for staggered or $300 if you take all 4 7.5".

Still interested?

Thanks
Justin

I didn't know you could fit 8.5" rims on the W124. Can you post a couple of pics?
