Information please
I just acquired a 1994 (w124) E400 S1 AMG V8 and am having difficulty finding any information on this car. It was made for the Japan market and was imported to Canada about 6 years ago.
It is authentic AMG, but I would like to know the actual specs of this car to help source parts but, would also like to know the history of this model...how many produced etc...
Any help is appreciated.

Just have this one pic from when I got her home yesterday! Dirty, Dirty, DIRTY!
This car is a diamond in the rough. only 123,000 kms original paint/interior in fantastic shape. She needs some TLC (bearings, brake pads, A/C work...maybe some fresh bushings/struts. oh and a proper radio) but, she goes like a bat outta you know where!

I have e-mailed with the Japanese author of the article linked above. He tells me there were 310 units of 1994 E400 AMG vehicles registered (S1, S2, S3). It is unknown exactly how many of these 310 were "S1". However, the estimate is somewhere between 50 and 80 units. Note, only 50 of the S1 models had a vehicle plate in the door jamb. This car appears to be an earlier 1994 MY production, as evidenced by the square exhausts that do not bear the AMG logo.
Any info you could share from the VIN would be appreciated.
