Identifying AMG Wheel Please Help!
Hello! Could someone help indentify these AMG rims? Sorry for the somewhat unrevealing photo, they were sent to me by a wreckers yard where I am interested in buying the wheels from. So far, they have told me that they are 15" inch rims.
Would anyone have any info about these rims and if they would fit a 1990' MB 200D W124 Sedan? Thank you very much for your assistance.

They look like my 16" AMG Aero I wheels. To me, they are the nicest wheels ever put on the car. In the 17" size they looked a little different than the 16" size. I think I did read they also came as a 15" wheel. Mine were 16" x 7.5" ET37 and were a perfect fit with 205/55/16 tires.
Here are pictures of mine, although they aren't mine anymore. The car is gone, RIP, and someone else has the wheels.

Fabulous find! I love the Aero I wheels. Someday if I'm lucky I may find a set of 17 inchers.

I believe they are AMG II's and IF they are off a W124 then the following data applies :
Front & Rear alloy wheels: 15x7" ET37
Wheel part number: AMG B66031002
Additional alloy part number: A2024010902
So you need more info from them to be sure.
You should get the ET (offset) from inside the wheel to confirm.
There are models that had AMG's with an ET below 30 which can be a problem for the W124 (although the fitment chart shows ET 25's as well as 35 for the W124). Also there may be some AMG wheels with an ET over 40. It all depends on what "Class" vehicle they came off.
You are looking for mid to high 30's to be a good fit.
Also ask about Part Number and Width

NEW PIC OF RIM, DO THEY RUST?
The wreckers yard has gotten back to me with a photo of the part number and offset/size. It appears to be a geniuine part number. Can anyone clarify?
Also was rust a problem on these wheels? The back of the wheel looks like some corrosion has built up on the surface behind spokes
Thank you for your help

The numbers indicate the wheel is 15" x 7" ET35. It will certainly fit, but they are not bigger wheels like so many people typically want today. They should be out closer to the fender lip, with the lower offset compared to the stock wheels. The old AMG look is very nice for sure, even if they are only 15" wheels.
The crud on the back of the wheels will come off, but sometimes it is really caked on there. Some people have had great success with Easy Off oven cleaner, but it can hurt the clearcoat especially if it is left on too long. Actually, with the wider spokes on the wheels you can get away with not cleaning behind the wheels. Of course you could also get them refinished.

Thank you for info
@ksing 44
Thank you sir for your prompt and informative reply.
In my country, (Philippines) the road conditions are quite bad with many potholes, cracks and varying surfaces. Thus I wanted to keep the 15" profile with a thick tyre to ensure my comfort level was not changed, but still get a nice oldschool AMG look!
Will post a picture once I ship them back to my country and have them refinished

They are perfect size and fit for your car as ksing pointed out.
In fact here's the same wheel part numbers which were offered on another forum
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/sale...ml#post3490365
Possibly 235 wide would fit but normally would expect 225's.
Just be aware of speedo changes if you go wider.

I actually was thinking about running a 195 section tire, specifically a 195/65/R15, would this be a good fit? I just bought these tires so I don't want them to go to waste

Yes they will fit nicely !
The MB fitment chart shows 205/60/R15 as the recommended size.
I would guess that they suggest that size as being closer to the original configuration and hence not cause any disparity in the speedometer.
It shows 195 better suited to 15x6.5 inch rim (but what's half an inch between friends anyway).
You don't mention your current wheel/tyre sizes.
Standard MB was more like 185/65R15 on a15x6 rim with high offset of 49
What you are trying to duplicate is the rolling circumference that way the speedo stays fairly accurate.
For example using the standard figures
185/65R15 = 1874.4 mm rolling circumference
205/60R15 = 1890.99 mm rolling circumference
At 70 mph the Speedo will read slower by 0.62 mph (ie going faster than speedo shows)
For the tyres your talking about
185/65R15 = 1874.40 mm rolling circumference
195/60R15 = 1913.61 mm rolling circumference
At 70 mph the Speedo will read slower by 1.46 mph (ie going faster than speedo shows)

@stormtigers
When I recieved my W124, it was riding on 195/65/R15s on a 15" stock wheel, but I am not too sure of the width of the wheel since I am away from my car at the moment.
Picked up the AMG Aero 1s yesterday! The tyres on them are also 195/65/R15s so the fitment will be the same right? I just want to use the tyres that are on my car currently but just swap the rims
@kluvsbenz love your car man! What size tyres are you running on those wheels

My 1995 E320 also came stock with 195/65/15 tires on the stock 15" wheels. I guess the stock wheels were 6.5" wide. I remember reading that on the "Sportline" car they did reduce the tire profile ever so slightly with the slightly wider and slightly shorter 205/60/15 tires. I'm sure both would work, but 195/65/15 is the stock size. They will look a little better too with the taller sidewall and they should give you that extra protection you mentioned needing for the bad roads where you live. You'll be prefect with 195/65/15 tires!
Sidewall height
195/65 - 195 mm x 0.65 = 126.75 mm
205/60 - 205 mm x 0.60 = 123 mm
Sidewall height
195/65 - 195 mm x 0.65 = 126.75 mm
205/60 - 205 mm x 0.60 = 123 mm

Yes you'll be fine. As I said it is only a small deviation in speedo reading.
Here the radar guns/operators can be **** and the "speed cameras" book you for 2-3 km/h over the limit.
Make sure you post pictures after fitting them !

Hello forum, finally got the rims back from the wreckers, I know they may not look like they're in the best shape now but I feel like they will look great after they get cleaned up a little bit! (and I got them for really cheap so I don't feel so bad about it)
Now to a) Remove the tyres b) ship them to my country c) Refurbish them d) mount them to my W124!
When I have them refinished, what color do people paint them? Is there like a universal alloy silver paintcode or something? And for the section of the rim embossed with ///AMG do people paint the "inner" embossed part black to make them stand out?
Thanks for your advice

Leave that to the professional restorer's they should know (if they are any good) what is involved.
No the logo remains just as an embossed logo into the metal.
I guess you could carefully fill it in but I wouldn't bother personally.

Just paint them silver, sometimes brilliant silver. The logo should be left as is, that defines the wheels! In particular, the slash marks in front of the AMG letters are indicative of the earlier wheels. Don't mess with perfection!
