Bought 300TD with busted window mechanism

Just bought a 300TD 1994. My late father had several old Mercs the last being a 123.
Following in his footsteps and ended up with a 124.

Has a busted rear left window mechanism, common problem I understand. Going to fix it, looking at regulator / motor mechanisms on the internet, wondering if this assembly is the same unit on the estate and the saloon?

Many thanks,

Keith

Rear doors are cable operated , and mechanical fronts But take the door card off and check the wires in the door before they go to the window motor .I swaped one out only to find it was a bad connection in the end . And the one i fitted is slower than the original motor at lifing the glass up. Wedge the glass in the up position to hold it up .And on refitting , dont lock the retaining bolts up in the door untill the window is in the right position Try it up and down a few times then lock it up..And fit the membrain back on the door before you refit the door card or rain will get in the footwell .Most important is to remove battery leads .It will damage your hand if it operates if you in there ..

Thanks, bought one off ebay and it went on like a dream. So much easier to replace than the ones on our B5.5 Passat

It was a back that I replaced and it was straight forward. Don't think it took an hour and I'm a slow worker!!!

oldspa was it electric or manual? My rears are operated by a motor and then a cable works the up and down parts ,instead of the metal arms .
