Are 210k miles to many for a 1994 E420? Car is pretty clean with maintenance records.
Owner is asking 2500 bucks for it.
I like to get a W124, and do not mind investing some money in it, as I think they are great cars. But do not want to buy a major problem car either.
Thanks in advance.

Higher miles means it's been used, which is better than being stored! I've had much better luck with high mileage cars than with low mileage ones. maybe offer them 2k unless it's stacked with recent records. See if there are any records as far as the engine harness being replaced as some cars of that era had issues with those. Also make sure it drives at all speeds fine without the throttle acting up!

Well lets see.... great body style on those and very solid... Certainly cheap money, but yah know what they say never buy a cheap mercedes
But it's one of those you have to be there. Is it well taken care of ? receipts ? if ya got all the receipts you know what has and hasn't been done and if ya don't mind fixing stuff, would be a nice ride.

I think I am all good with checking the car out, as well as what to look for when purchasing. I have a W124 Buyers Guide which my Brother sent me from Germany which is VERY detailed.
I am just curious as to how many miles one should be expecting from a 8 cylinder car. The car is owned by an older person, 2nd owner. Attached are some pictures of his craigslist add which are REALLY bad. I asked him to send me some more detailed pictures of the car, but he needs his granddaughter to help him as he is not able to do it based on his technology knowledge. (As can be seen in the attached craigslist pics).
From what I can see the car is clean, but more pictures with the help of the granddaughter are supposed to come today. I will share if/when I get them.

Serious? You don't think there is too much work to do in there with the wood trim, the leather. You can also see that the trim below the passenger seat belt on the pillar is coming loose as well.

for $2k ? and the body looks really good, any rust ?
have the leather redone or find a set at a local junk yard... or maybe even here in the marketplace......
he isn't asking 8k he is asking for less than 3k....
if i had garage space i would be all over it...
especially if it drives well..

eBay is your friend! you can find those wood parts fairly easy (doing the same with my 93 300SE)
It does look very nice, but I would definitely check out underneath it for rust.
