Blower fan in W124
Hello all, I recently replaced my evaporator in my 300e. It took me about 1 week. The job was successful; I only had 3 screws remaining after the reinstall. My problem now is that the blower fan remains on constantly. Maybe I never noticed it but is this normal? It’s not on at a very high speed but if you listen very carefully you can hear it running. It also comes out all vents including the defrost vent. Please help with this problem so I can move on to my next one!

If you push the OFF (O) button on the climate control unit, does the fan still run? If so I would be inclined to think the climate control unit is at fault.

Yes, I have replaced the climate control unit from one that I won off EBAY.

If your old control unit was malfunctioning, you should have turned it in for a rebuilt unit. They are cheap and guaranteed to work.

Where can you get a rebuilt unit? And how much does it run?

Depending on your car's serial number, they range from $62 to $149 (after you return the core). Go to this site and click on the link for the range of your S/N...

Where is the blower motor regulator located on the 1993 300E? I need to replace the regulator and need to know the difficulty of this job and maybe
step by step instructions if anyone knows.

Regulator is in the fresh air intake. The service manual does not have the job for removing the grille. Some people here have done it. Try searching.

Jer: When you say the blower motor regulator is located in the fresh air

intake..do you mean the grill underneath the windshield wiper?

Or under the passenger side dash? Please explain further...

The FRESH air grille is under the windshield wiper. Under the passenger dash is for recycled air.
