Source for Wiring Harness

I need a new one. The cheapest I have found was $720. Any other ideas? What about trying to repair the old one? Is it that hard? Take it off, unwrap the tape, wrap the wires in shrink wrap electrical tape or just splice in and solder new wires. Has anyone tried it?

The mercedes repair kits are also sold. See if there is one for your particular section of cable. Is it the engine harness or body harness ?

1994 E320 Wagon

The MB part # is 1244405632. It seems this is the same part used on 93-95 M104 engines.

That's the part number for the early run of these engines. Last I checked - 2 yrs ago - the part was available through another website, here, for $575.

I've read discussion where people replaced the wiring one wire at a time, but this may be more work than the average person wants to undertake to save money. If you decide to repair the wiring, ALL the wires must be replaced because the insulation gets brittle in the entire engine wiring harness.

i have tried rewiring my MB 300 24v last february by splicing it at different levels near the ECU plug and do it one wire or plug at a time to prevent confusion. as much as possible rewire it at least with similar color for easy tracing.

It's at the same link as in my previous post, just before the price. My information is 1½ years old, so the price may have increased since then.
