Cruise Control - Replaced Amplifier - New Issues
Hello all! I was wondering if anybody experienced something similar to this. My cruise had been going out for a few months now. It would actuate fewer and fewer times, until finally it would not actuate at all any more. I was highly confident that a rebuilt unit (Programa) with the same part# and reusing the code key would solve the issue. Got it all reassembled, and when I started driving the ABS light came on. I stopped the car and reset all the fuses (I pulled the fuses for the dome lights while I was working). After restarting, the ABS was working again, but the cruise control did nothing except one time it came on briefly after a long delay. I tried multiple times after that and nothing. I tried searching but doesn't seem like anybody has quite experienced anything like this before. Any suggestions appreciated. 1992 300D 2.5 Cruis Amp PN 0055450532

Not sure but the cruise control would be considered a sensitive circuit just like the ABS. I suspect they are on the same fuses, OVP etc.
Did the ABS light come on when the cruise control was also on?
If your CC amp is also in a similar location as in the W201's (inside cabin) they are very sturdy. Even though they fail now and then I would say the actuator at the throttle under the hood would be more of a suspect. Perhaps it is drawing too much current?

On another MB forum where I was active and for a while a moderator I hardly read about any CC amplifier issues on W201 or W124's. There was a little CC amp issue on W126's that I noticed.
Let's see where you land with the new actuator. With your model hopefully it is easier to replace than on a W201-2.6L. Sure seems like it is buried down there in the throttle area and would be a bit of a project to replace.
