brake pads suggestions?

I need to replace the front brake pads .. I want:

- less brake dust (winter is here, can't wash my wheels everyday anymore)
- good stopping power (i don't want to die)
- long life (i'm not gonna spend $100 every couple of months on pads)
- won't eat up rotor (this too)

Which brands are recommended?
BTW, I'm not asking for too much am I?

Thanks!

I've heard good things about EBC Greenstuff. Made of Kevlar.

I just ordered Porterfield R4S pads from my roadster dot net for $150 shipped. Anyone has these pads? How are they?

What's wrong with the MB pads? I bought my 300E last year and it's time for a brake job. I've heard that the stock pads are more than adaquate for daily driving.

I have no idea what pads are on my car right now, but they are very dusty. That's the only thing I don't like about them.

On my other car(VW rabbit) I've used; mintex red boxes (very dusty, very good after they warm up good for racing) and I had a set of repco metal masters (I would probably use this set on the benz because the performed well and the dust wasn't black, it was greyish which meant that I could go longer in between cleanings.

Let me know what you use and how you like them.

Well, my Porterfield R4S pads are coming in mail Monday. I haven't seen anyone complained about these pads, that's why I'm gonna give it a try. Suppose to be: better braking & very very little dusts. I don't know if it will eat up my rotors, i'll have to see.

My idiot light for worn brake pad has been going on and off for the past couple of days now when i step on the brakes. Now it even lights up when i'm not braking. How much life of the pads are left?? I don't want to **** up my calipers. I have to drive for the next couple of days, but i'm trying my best not the brake hard.

08 Lexus GS350 AWD. 08 Lexus RX350 AWD - wife's. 94 MBZ E320 - still have it.
With the warning light on you still have about 1/4 inch of pad left. You could ruin the sensor, but they are about $6 a piece.

Tell us how you like your new pads. Are they really low-dust? I have yet to see a low-dust MBZ pad.

1/4 inch = 4mm ... okay thanks!

They are coming TOMORROW!!! I'm so scared when I drive right now, although I brake really lightly. I'm not worrying about messing up the sensors since I'm replacing them with new ones. I'll let you guys know how these pads are

stock pads wear out fast (thanks to my hard braking), and they have lots of brake dust. just driving from SF to the east bay and my rims turn black
