I have obsidian black on my C230. Its one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen (its OEM). Its harder to keep clean but if you keep it polished it really looks royal! I have pictures if you would like.
Just a word of caution on the paint... to get a good paint job supplies can easily run 500-600$ Hell its 400$ just to repaint 2 of my doors from an accident. Just make sure you get a good one and not some of those Macco and other cheap things as you will want to really keep the car up.
Hope that helps.

wow 650 bucks is way too cheap for an entire car???...i'd be skeptical...where are you getting it done?
....my 300e was $3500 excluding lower panels (includes fixing dents and grinding down to metal) and my volvo 760 was $2500 for all same treatment....i had both done conveniently after they were 10 years old and in minor accidents which affected some panels..so obviously insurance covered part of it.
The volvo had glasurit paint put on it and that stuff is tops...no chipping.
and the color i always liked the best was from the early 90's...that grey pealescent color was really cool.
