idles too high

hi guys i need some help with this one:

i recently bought a 190E wuth a 2.6 in it but lately the rev's stay too high on idle and even when i drive it. i can go up to 70 kmh (sometimes) without touching the accelerator, but it doesn't happen too often

here is the list of new parts since i got it:

new spark plugs
wires
rotor and cap
fuel pressure regulator
oxygen sensor
serpentine belt

the mixture of gas and air was adjusted and the problem didnt go away and since this car is a 5-speed it is really annoying because high rev's make it hard for shifting gears.

when this happens rpms go as high as 2100 and willnot go down for a while
but even when everything is "OK" the rpms go down slowly (when i rev it up to say 4000 and let go of the pedal they slooowly go down)

i'm sorry for the long post but this is really pissing me off

so if anyone has any suugestions please feel free to drom a line here
thanks

If you push the accelerator and the engine speed takes awhile to drop, the throttle cable or air plate might be sticking. Does the engine idle normally after it warms up?

Throttle cable was sticking in my 190E as well. It needed two $6 plastic connectors that were broken. No more high idle.
