Window regulator - before installation

Before getting the door apart - can someone please tell me what size (diameter and length) the rivets are? I think 3/16 is the diameter, but can't find the length spec anywhere.

Thanks for the help - doing the job Saturday.

I used 3/16 by 6mm or so.

If you buy the mercedes window regulator, it will come with all the rivets you'll need. It requires quite a bit of force though (since they're steel). I ended up using a c-clamp on the riveter to be able to get enough force for the core of the rivet to cut off.

If you buy the mercedes regulator in California, you'll have the opportunity to buy the rivets for $1 each. I just bought them today. They're extra. I'll show you pics of the Mercedes rivets vs. plain old rivets later.

I stand corrected. rivets were extra for me too, except they were $.50 each (x4=$2.00). Total cost was $72.53 (incl. tax) from Ben's Workshop in Austin

Aluminum Revits

With my small rivet gun I can not apply enough force to install MB stainless steel rivets.

I went to Home Depot and got same size Aluminum revits [Qty 50 for $4.00].

It was so easy to install aluminum revits. Alumninu revits are as strong as MB SS revits. Windows stay find and no noise or any other problem.

Don't waist you $$ and time, go and get aluminum revit.

Everyone talks about how easy this repair is, and for the most part it is, but FYI for those who don't know: when I drilled out the rivets, I had a hell of a time doing it. other than that the job was easy as pie.
