pop out all the wood trim, take them to a machine shop. have them form aluminum panels using the wood pieces as a model.

not easy, not cheap, not impossible.

I'd vote for carbon fiber over brushed aluminum.
I'd even vote for painting it to match the exterior color of the car before leaving it plain.
Just my worthless opinion though.

I think it worth it to try. At least everyone else can benefit. I think if you used the tool that would make small round circles in the aluminum, it would give the panel more depth. Or it might look to "retro", hot rod style, too. I think they call it, "engine turning"??? Anyways, from your original picture, it is pretty neat how the wood is bonded to the metal base. They must do it with high pressure and some sort of die (metal mold).

Stick a phatty oil pressure gauge in their. Very easy to add this to the diesels...

now that you've taken it down to the aluminum, maybe if you polish it and have it anodized (black maybe). seems like it would cut the glare. i've always liked anodized aluminum, might work for a luxury car. or perhaps an acid wash to give it more of a cloudy appearance. don't stop the experiment now!
