E-Class COMAND Aux input
Does the COMAND system in an E-class have a convenient auxiliary analog audio input for connecting an MP3 player or such?
Question is important because I have to decide whether to order a CD changer or not.
Thanks,

Yes!
There is one in the glove compartment. Convenient? Not really, in my opinion, since you always have to open the glove compartment to turn the device off or take it out. (Unless on a long trip) I ended up just using the CD changer for daily driving. You don't have to order the CD changer right away since it's a dealer add-on option. You can always buy it later if you find it not worth the extar efforts. Also you can find some after market CD changers which cost less.
Hope this helps.

Command aux input
Yep,
I use the Apple Ipod on the aux input. I have all my CD collections in the Ipod. I hardly uses the CD changer now.
I have 6ft. miniplug to miniplug cable with one end always connected to the input location inside the glove box. The other end is next to the passenger seat, a convenient location to place my Ipod (usually sit in the cup holder).

Where in the glovebox do I find it?
I felt around inside the glovebox of an '02 COMAND-equipped E55 Saturday, and didn't find anything that felt like an auxiliary input jack. Where in the glovebox is it?
Thanks,

Switching into Aux
Has anyone figured out how to hack the command system so that you can go into AUX mode by the unused button at the top? This would be a lot easier than having to go thru the menus to switch!
