Rear window down!
My left rear window won't go back up.
There is a grinding noise when I try to close it.
Is there anyone who knows how to get at the mechanism.
So I can try to at least close the window for now.

Thanks E-Klasse for the great link!
I managed to get at the regulator.
It seems everything is good but the wire was all tangled up.
The regulator gears look clean.
I just have to figure out how to get the wire back on the spool.

Might as well replace the regulator while you're in there. You know that as soon as you replace the spool and put new door clips on it's going to break on you.
Last week I had to have the rear passenger door regulator replaced. My tally so far in the seven years I have owned my car
Rear Passenger door - 2
Rear Drivers door - 5 (two in one summer once).
I really need to figure out how to do that job myself.
