Usually, most people bake their headlight assembly to soften up the seal. Others have used a hair dryer or heat gun. Post pics of all your parts and maybe I could help you wire up and mount your ballast.

EDIT: stupid me...didn't see the pic at the top. Looks like the ballast are from a Lexus or Toyota. Connect the red wire to an inline fuse and use a 20 amp fuse or higher, then to the positive wire on your headlight harness. With the headlight switched on, test the harness for positive using a DMM or continuity test light. Black wire goes to ground (chassis) or negative wire on headlight harness. Use solder as your connection with a heat shrink tubing. I usually don’t use butt connectors most especially if it’s going to be in the engine bay. I can’t tell if your ballast has a built in igniter or if they’re separate from the ballast. Would need a better pic.

4 wheeled car.
you need the washers b/c the projector shroud doesnt line up on the depo lights. So the only way to secure it is to use large washers that will extend out and act as a clamp. It's easy dude, once you do it you'll see.

i'll snap some better pics of what i have.......i remember there was a online instructions someone made, no? step but step?

i'm not too great with wiring and stuff like that........but my test set i baked the lights and took it apart and it broke......on top of it the glue kinda dried and i couldn't reseal it and it seemed like the only way to seal it is if i heated up the glue again and scrap it out....pain in the butt.......

ballast are from a lexus but i've never soldered or heat shrunk anything so this makes it harder project for me......

mike have you done this before?

4 wheeled car.
yeah dude. I even redid my HID kit w/ another one. Just find the hot wire that controls the headlights and you're set. then ground the other wire and that's all. I think so... I did have TWS hooked it up originally but its not all that hard. Hooking up HID kits themselves is apiece of cake. Then the harness for the other lights (city lights and high beam) is plug and play int he depo lights.

ok been speaking with raymond and talked to huy today....these projectors are different then the depo ones, huy said they might be the eagle ones but i'm not sure.......

anyways the mouting holes don't allign with the rs6......

anyways huy/raymond here are the pics......

you can also see the shroud being different with these......i kept the depo one that i opend a few weeks ago and it fixs the rs6 but its not snug....

also these projectors were using a h1 or h3 bulbs unlike the h7 that oem and depo ones use.....

That's the Eagle Eyes unit. It uses 2.5" lens projector. Not the 3" like the Depo.

Couple issues we might have:

1) The 3" projector, like the E55 or RS6, won't fit straight in, unless you do major cut (and even so, the shroud won't fit). To cut the whole large enough so that te RS6/E55 (also called Hella 90mm HID) projector would fit in, the mounting hole in the light base would be wiped out, this would weaken the internal structure of the light significantly.

2) Not just smaller in diameter, the Eagle projector is also much shorter than the Hella . I don't have the light in front of me to do measure, but if it's like what I thought, putting in the Hella 90mm could cause the projector lens too close to headlight front lens (heat), and the back could stick out (not really a problem, you can chop the back off and patch it), just won't look as nice.

3) With 2.5" projector, there aren't much options for bi-xenon (the only bi-xenon I remmember is the Valeo bi-xenon). At least the good news is there are quite a few 2.5" projector at quite reasonable price (Lexus RX330, or Acura MDX), or good one at a bit pricey price (Honda S2K, Acura TSX). It is, however, very up to you to decide whether to pursui w/ 3" RS-6 or switch projector.

I'm listing couple pix of projector here: comparision of 3" and 2.5", different type of projector. Not all projector are created the same, we all know that.

We all learn here, if you get the Eagle Eyes done, you'll be pioneering among us. I still remmember my first attempt in replacing the lousy Depo projector: bought a bunch of projectors only to find the E55 fit well. I think raymond got a pair of 60mm A6 projector for his first attemp too (waayyy too small). We all learn on the job

And that's not to mention testing out all sort of ballast to find which one work w/ Mercedes mooding "lamp fail" warning. I already shared that with you.

Once you get it figured out and done, then it'll be easier if you decide to upgrade or do for other. Raymond and I have done quite a few, and I think no two job are the same. It's best to treat each job as it's the hard one, and give it the most attention & care. Remind me of the job few weeks ago: after I have putting in everything & seal the light, two days prior to shipping, I realized that there's finger print in FRONT of the projector lens. Had no choice but open everything apart and redo it again. Too bad custom-agent/courier in Mexico destroyed that set during shipping/inspection.

huy i don't think it'll be all that bad. a little craving here or there might do the trick. on the shroud the ones i have from the deop 00+ would fit with a little glue of some sort.

i think we should try it and see and then worst case i can sell the rs6 projectors and maybe get the tsx ones....what you think?

Alex

I have only one pair of 2005 TSX left. From 2006-on, TSX switch to fresnel lens, not as bright and sharp as before (clear lens), so I'll keep them as spare part. You can get them on eBay or forum, they'll rund around $200-250/pair.

Judging from the picture, I think if you buy a pair of Acura MDX headlight, the work would be minimal (same shape and dimension as Eagle projector)

The MDX is a halogen projector, but with little mod, can hold D2S bulb very well, and have nice cut-off & light compared to other projectors.

Best of all, you can get a pair of MDX projector for $50-80.

huy/raymond what you guys think of these???

Valeo spec projectors (Audi S4 OEM Components) produce amazingly sharp cutoffs with abundant amount of blue and purple spectrums above the cutoffs. These are some of the most colorful projectors available. The Valeo's are recommended for retrofit into smaller headlamps.

The dimensions for the Valeo are 5.5" length, 4" width, 3.5" height. The diameter of the lens is 2.5".
