Honestly, I like the black look. But I would be concerned with light output/quality of those. I thought about those as well, but decided against it. Not to sound like a lemming but depo maybe? Happy hunting.

The black ones look exactly like the depots, but not made by them. What if I retrofit new projectors and do the whole resealing thing?

I think a retrofit would be sick. Talk to Zam about it, Im sure he would have some words of wisdom.

yo check out my older thread.........i bought these lights......i like them but i am doing the retrofit but ran into a problem because i bought the rs6 projectors and these are smaller....so i have to get either tsx/s2000 ones or something thats around 2.5 in.......there are more choice that are cheaper but i don't remember what zam(huy) had said

Actually the projectors from the S2000 have the best cut off. The light looks great. I have the RS6 Bixenon in mine and I'm happy.

Alex, I just read your old post, I did not realize that your project was the same. At least we are in different coasts.

hahaha i know.....we basically have the same car in different colors and different states.....

from reading around the tsx/s2000 are at the top of projectors for that size and there also is the vallero s4 audi ones i believe from the older s4's...

i have a feeling since your doing the black lights/black grille you might do black wheels???? i'm i right??

and yes copy ad paste on here is much easier then actually doing it, take it from me....

I'm not too fond of black wheels on a silver car, but here is a quick visual of it. I have a feeling that it might grow on me.

Go for it do the black head light conversion, black grille, and clear black housing fog light if they make them.

thats what i said at first........when i first did it there weren't too many white cars with black rims but i took a chance and now whatever car i see i want to put black rims on it......black rims just make the car so much aggresive looking.....

i know they have black projectors fogs but it doesn't come with clear lens so you'd have to basically buy 2 sets of fog lights to make it happen

It looks okay, but a little overkill since you have the blackout grille and the headlight kind of got lost in between.

I agree. If youre going to do the retrofit, Id think about not getting the grille too. The black projectors already give the front a very nice contrast.

I would do the black lights only if you add more black to your car. I think having the black grill is a good start.
You could always buy the Depo ones, open them and paint them gloss or flat black. Go for it!
Check out my short video, you can see my car from differnt angles. I love silver and black. http://media.putfile.com/E55-AMG-Burnouts

I was wondering how your project it coming along. Do you have any new pics?
Sorry about the Depo lights. I had to take mine a part many times. I baked them at 350 degrees in the oven for 4 minutes.

If you want absolutely the most amazing light output, get the Lexus LS projector. Every other projectors out there look humble compared to it. The next best thing is the Honda S2K or Acura TSX. The Valeo is probably not in the top 5 best projector out there, in term of performance. They produce nice color, however.

All projector out there, because of the design, block half of the light output from the bulb. The LS design is not to waste any of the bulb output, since they route those light to the bottom reflector (just like turbo charge engine)

Most, if not all, xenon projector, used w/ OEM xenon ballast & bulb, produce so much better light than halogen headlight, and thousands times better than the aftermarket one, can't go wrong w/ any of them, just matter of you want the good, better, or best

If you look at the pix (same camera setting), see how the TL and TSX are better than the one found in Audi RS6 (also on Porsches 911/SUV), and notice how the LS trounce them all
