reggie jackson E55 owner report
finally! i got my E55 that i have been waiting for last friday, since febuary. it came to me in a big semi truck that it shared with a porsche carrera and a 66 dodge pickup. it was the cleanest W210 i had seen, it even smells brand new. i looked at the odometer and it had 8191 miles on it. the engine bay looks like new, and some how the michelin pilot sports had all kinds of tread. and for some reason the windows are blue as can be. way more blue than the pics. i have no idea if they are factory or not. i looked in the back seat and what do you know... there is a signed ball and a signed bat in a velore bag. he also signed my owners manual also. it started to rain so i handed the dude a check for the shipping and took off.
driving this thing is amazing. i never knew how much better a AMG drove until i had driven one. the suspension is much differnent as i understand, and it sure feels different. 1st and 2nd gear are useless on damp road, struggling to stay on the road (i love it) when it rains you can drive up a strait road sideways with ease. i just love how it just effortlessly accelerates as fast as my E320 did with just resting my foot on the thottle. now this is a car! i don't think i will ever own anything but a v8 now. ive sold my 6 cylinders for v8s. i also have a expedition with the 5.4.
when i had got the car i had to leave for tennesse for a business conference in about 2 hours. no way was i gonna leave this thing at home after waiting that long to get it, cause i was gonna be there until sunday. so i drove it. this is probably the best all around car. it a sleeper no doubt, and its a very comforable driving car. it rides very good, nice and stiff. i swear it rides like it has h&rs. this thing is a rocket. cruise down the road, drop a gear or two and you are flying! the power delivery is not what i had expected, it is very smooth and it doesn't feel like you are accelerating as fast as you really are. this thing is real easy to throttle drift also. drop down to 2nd or 3rd and tap the throttle. i wanted to race some people down the strip of pigeon forge but there was either way to many people or way to many cops, so i went out to a very curvy mountain road (see pics) to test the handling. in stock form, the E55 out handled my E320 on 19s with h&r's and bilsteins by far. this thing handles awsome. i love to take curves way more than just go a strait line. going a strait line? mash the gas and hold on... where is the talent in that?
this car is awsome and one of the badest thing i have ever sat my *** in. ... it still has plenty of power to have fun. im all about speed, i have a full race quad that could probly take the E55 in 0 - 60 (its set up for MX and freestyle jumping, not drag) maybe later this year or early next year i will get the kleemann package for some serious speed. this car has a high potential for some awsome power. i love this thing and i will never get rid of it, thank you reggie jackson for an awsome car!
enjoy the pics!

thanks guys.. it was a bit pricey but i think i got a good deal, considering the rarity of this car, mileage and condition. ive got about 39K in it after taxes and shipping costs. i won it off ebay for 34,700. reggie is one of the nices guys you would ever meet. ill post some pics of the signed ball and bat also
mike mike mike.... that was the exact reason i got a 99, i couldn't let that go to waste. you said you had the only known kit at the time to be in the U.S, so i thought a E55 with that kit would be an even more rare find. im gonna have it done in a few weeks so stay tuned!

Thanks to eBay, everything seems to have a price tag, and that's too bad. Myself, I would never sell those items... money comes and goes, but for you, that bat, ball and owners manual are irreplaceable, along with how you got them. Sell them, and their gone forever...

you make a very good point. ive never even watched a whole game of baseball but i still cherish these items and of course, the awsome story that can be pasted down through the generations. the story that i have from this helped influence my purchase, and the low low mileage
