18" AMG Wheel Pictures

Finally got some sunshine in California, so I washed my car and took a few pictures with the new AMG wheels... still haven't decided what to do about lowering it.

Are those AMG Wheels from a SL500 R230?

Nice AMG wheels- was wondering if they are the OEM ones from a SL500 R230? What size tires are you running? How much do the bolts cost? Let me know...Thanks!

dyllanc;

The AMG wheels are 18" Style III for the W211 chassis; my '01 is a W210 chassis of course. I know the 17" version a couple of years ago was available for the C, CLK and SLK series. I don't know which model(s) may have come standard with these Style III's.

AMG 18x8 Style III et30 Silver - Front
AMG 18x9 Style III et39 Silver - Rear

Bridgestone Potenza RE750 235/40x18 - Front
Bridgestone Potenza RE750 265/35x18 - Rear

RAD lug-bolts - less than $50 including shipping for a complete four-wheel set.

uberwgn;

Your Turbo Diesel looks sharp; those are the style wheels I had also considered for my vehicle.

I stopped by a local suspension shop last week for a second opinion how to best lower my vehicle. I followed up with two phone calls since then, but still haven't been told or quoted anything. Looks like a shop I won't be using... I would like to find a professional shop that isn't 80 miles away!

Richard, the previous owner gave me the name of a shop in SoCal...I'll see if I can find it.

Have you decided which components you're going to use?

No, I haven't decided yet. I have a quote for $700 total for H&R Springs from a shop that's 80 miles away and got a quote today for Eibach Springs from a local shop. He wants $319 for the springs, but is quoting me up to $500 for labor. He tells me that it takes up to 8 hours to install, which seems like alot to me... what do you think?

Oh- and both shops will sell me shocks, but I don't know if I really need them, so that's not in the price quote. The OEM shocks are pretty much new, as my vehicle has less than 3,300 miles on it. If I don't need to change them due to the H&R or Eibach spring replacements, maybe I should leave them alone.

I think you need to find another shop. I'm no suspension mechanic, nor a mechanic of any kind, and I managed to drop my wife's E class in under four hours with pretty standard garage tools and a spring compressor. Hell -- if I could get $500 per install I'd start doing them every weekend

Hello Kicker;

Great pictures of a great-looking 'E'. I probably won't go to quite that extreme (married; wife keeps asking why I need to lower it at all) but it sure looks 'just right'.
