Do NOT buy: EBAY List.............Projector headligt and Fog light

I am a noob, but I am certainly able to tell what's good and what's not. (I was trying to save money and guess what?....I got what I paid for! )

Here is the 2 list off ebay

1. Auto Dynasty's W210 Projector headlight

Reason 1: the measurement of the Headlight housing is bit off, require force to "bend" to fit into the socket.
Reason 2: Using sub-par H3 Bulb, instead OEM H7
Reason 3: Lens are so easily scratch
Reason 4: EXTREMELY bad lighting ( I can't believe that it is worst than my OEM all scratch up - yellowish lens)

ONLY PRO: it looks extremely sexy. "less divided looks" between signal and projector.

Shipping: FAST.
Product: Made in Taiwan
Response: 1 day email response - (all sale final)
=====================================
2. VertexRacing's W210 Clear Fog light

Reason 1: the level-adjuster is "dummy" does NOT even works.
Reason 2: light beam wasn't concentrated.

ONLY PRO: it looks very nice WHEN YOU ARE NOT DRIVING

Shipping: VERY FAST
Product: Made in Taiwan
Response: 3 emails still no reply!!!!

thanks for the heads up - posts like this can be the most helpful of all. with all the add-ons and aftermarket parts out there, it's hard to know what belongs on a mercedes and what belongs in the trash.

Actually it's easy--if it isn't Hella or Bosch or perhaps Valeo/Cibie it doesn't belong on a Benz.

am sorry you had to experience this firsthand. Zam and I have tried to
alert folks against purchasing anything other than Depo for the E320.
Even so, the H7 projector unit (bowl, reflector, inner lens) is woefully
deficient. To get better lighting than OEM's H7 set up, you'll need to
go HID.

you can also get Depo, gut the inner projo lens, and put in a Hella
H7 lens, says Zam, but these may be a bit challenging to get

Thanks for the 'heads-up'; by the way, what did you spend on these lights as a reference to others that might think they are saving money...

Anything over eBay is a scary proposition. Extra caution should be taken especially on something so important to your vehicle. Thanks for the heads up. I've always wondered how good a deal those headlights really are....guess not!

i was pretty disappointed when I lit up the Depo....and that was in H7
configuration. the factory H7 headlamp was far better in terms of light
distribution.

insofar as whether it was a total loss, well, I gutted the H7 projector
and put in an E55 bix and have been driving around for a year with that
set up. couple of months ago, I bought the RS6 HID bixenon and should
be able to put that into a Depo soon (yeah, I'll just buy another Depo
and sell this other set).

i also got the clear Taiwan fogs and didn't think they were worth much
but I gotta say that their appearance alone is great! the HID bix put out
so much light on low/high that the fog light doesn't add spit to the light
coverage.

love the clear lens look of both head/fog lights though.

It is good thing that I live around Pentagon. (yeah, you street light is brighter than any headlight anyway)

Thanks for cheer me up...well, I will look at the "bright side" They looks EXTREMELY sexy when NOT driving.
(it also make my car looks 5 year younger)

I don't doubt that..however, the issue is to "save money" (obviously, you know I regrate it now )

I will take the picture of light pattern later.
It is kind of weird...........
it project out Triangle shape.
( seriously, I bet you never see this kind of light pattern )

Trying to save money....Muuhahaha. If you are on here and between the age of 18-25 saying that is a lie. If you are a car enthusiast and your young, saving money means that when you have enough later on you can put you car down and make payments on an AMG. Maybe your not like that but i am; hear is a sad fact about me.

I have NEVER had a car longer than 2 years!!! I'm 21 and i've had 5 cars!!!!!! and not only that, every single one has been modded, with a minimum of at least 4k in each one of them. I went crazy when I had a 540i and put 10k into it. But I am now in your shoes, I got myself an E320 (great low maintenece car that gets awsome gas mileage). I'm proud to say I've had this car for almost a year and plan to keep it for atleast 3 years!

Let's just say, you are very fortunate and very smart.

Before you getting yourself into Projector lens.
Try this first....

Get 1000 grid sand paper ($2.90 for 5 sheets)
And 2000 grid sand paper ($2.90 for 5 sheets) from Auto store or Homedepot.

1. Start w/ 1000 sand paper with water (must sand it wet)
2. wash off~
3. proceed w/ 2000 grid w/ water (must sand it wet and lots elbow grease and make sure all surface feel smooth)
4. Wash off~
5. Apply Meguiar's PlastX ($5.25 a bottle at Pepboy)

Here is the result.
