Comments: 2nd owner - Onyx Black/Beige Int - R/R what seems to be all the common stuff, AC/Blower Motor Regulator, MAF, All Engine Coils, Spark Plugs, Floppy Passenger side mirror repair (today), window regulators, (both rear).

I currently do have a oil leak. Sounds like the valve cover gasket based on other threads, but need to do some engine washing, its pretty dirty. Any suggestions or DIY on how to wash the engine? I've read that 97 do not like water

you and your car are so unique that, when I don't see posts from you for months,
i wonder what's up. for example, the web site you used to maintain about your
car no longer is active....which had me wondering for some time if you still had
the car.....perhaps your wife made you sell it.

Hey Raymond! No, still have the E320; my wife will never let me sell it since it has so few miles on it for the model year. She say's that when I'm dead and gone, she's going to driving it through a carwash and take it through a drive-thru and eat in her, and drive her in the rain, since I don't allow any of that. She's kidding, of course.

My original website was deleted, or so I had been told by geocities, but by chance, I came across it just the other day and the website was 'recovered' by them. (geocities.ws)

http://www.geocities.ws/mymercedesbenze320/index.html

I also had one at:

http://sites.google.com/site/2001mercedesbenze320/

but haven't updated either of them for quite a while.

2001 just turned 100k on a trip out to Indiana from Pennsylvania.

27 mpg is incredible for a 10 year old car.

Although the rear driver's side window decided to break. And I think the water pump may be on the way out.

Just hit 80K on my '97 E320. Still looks and runs like new, because she's not used in winter. Just a few minor gremlins: LR window, dashboard lighting, tilt wheel switch, RF seat control. Recently replaced drivers mirror and HVAC Sampler Blower Motor.

Glad to read your !!! I have the same color and black leather 2002 430E. You have got great mileage on your car. congratulations! Now for a few days I have the break problem and I found that the car starts shaking when I apply the breaks and the dealer said the front and the rear breaks are to be replaced. There is no display about the break problem yet. Did you experience similar conditions driving anytime your car? Thanks.

2001 E55 AMG (sold)
Just picked up a 2001 E55 AMG, about to turn 79,000. With a little luck and planned maintenance, I hope to get another 100k out of her over the next 5-6 years.

It was a 1-owner car before I picked it up. The previous owner had his fair share of problems though. He kept all the service records. Looks like he had the steering rack, leaky trans (that connector), MAF, instrument panel, idler pulley, front suspension, something with the steering wheel, a few AC problems, all repaired under warranty (he had a 3-y premium extended). Overall, very well cared for. I plan to continue the tradition.
